Parks are spaces intended for playing,
having fun, and spending free time. In STEM park on Klobučarić Square, our wish
was to connect what is pleasant with what is useful, introduce the element of
learning in the field of STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics)
into the children’s play and contribute to the development of skills such as
creativity, logical thinking and perceiving the world through scientific
approach. The park is intended primarily for children aged 2 to 12 and their
parents.
There are nine elements in the park:
planetarium, tangram, abacus, concave and convex mirror, station for natural
sciences, movement on a truncated cone, Pythagorean theorem with a sundial and
3D solar system, as well as gadgets that will allow the people of Rijeka to
leave enciphered messages to their friends, explore the sky of the Northern
hemisphere, explore the Solar System, learn about basic and advanced
mathematical operations, connect the animals of our region and their habitats,
research numerous items with a magnifier, monitor the climate of our region and
participate in many other activities, all with the purpose of exploring STEM
areas in a fun way.
Every element in the park has a QR code
which the visitors can scan and learn what each of the elements represent and how
they can be used.
