STEM laboratory is located at Korzo 2A, in
the very centre of Rijeka. Equipped with interactive stations which introduce
the visitors to the world of mathematics, physics, chemistry, biology and
technology, the lab explores topics such as mathematical tiling, exponential
growth, fractals, probability, movement along paths and enciphering. In
Rijeka’s STEM lab, themes and notions that many of us consider “difficult” are
explored in an innovative, fun way, through exploration and different
workshops, educations and lectures.
Faculty of Mathematics – University of
Rijeka (Bojan Crnković, Vedrana Mikulić Crnković), Višnjan Astronomical Society
(Petar Čuček) and Centre of Technical Culture (Zagorka Prce Veseli, Loris
Rašpolić, Olivera Stanić) participated in designing the exhibits of STEM
laboratory.
With previous announcement, the lab is open
for educational visits to all elementary and high schools during the entire
school year, as well as for associations and organizations. We also plan to
share the story of STEM laboratory with general public. In due time, we want to
make sure that every interested citizen of Rijeka and its surrounding is able
to visit, explore the laboratory and participate in STEM activities.
